Product structured data checker for ecommerce sites
For any online store: Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Wix, Squarespace, Magento or a site you built yourself.
Structured data is the code in a product page that states its name, price and stock in a form software can read. Paste the address of one product page, and this free tool shows the product markup it found, what is missing and how to fix each item.
It reads only the page you name, as any visitor would. We do not save the address or the page.

This is an example for a product that does not exist. Replace every value with your product's own, and remove what your page does not show.

What the result means
The tool reads the page once, as any visitor would, and checks its JSON-LD. You get one of four answers:
- Complete: the Product markup has every required and recommended property we check, and nothing in it disagrees with the page.
- Things to fix: the markup is there, with what is required first, then what is recommended, then what we could not match to the page, each with why it matters and how to fix it.
- No product structured data: the page looks like a product page but has no Product markup, with a complete example for a made-up product to start from.
- Not a product page: the page has no Product markup and nothing else that marks it as a product page. The answer lists the markup it did find.
With every answer that finds a product you see it as a table, and you can copy the JSON-LD it came from. What counts as required and what as recommended follows Google's merchant listing, product snippet and product variants documentation. We also count availability as required, because it says whether the product can be bought; Google lists it as recommended.
Organization and BreadcrumbList markup are noted when found, for information only.
What to fix
Most stores do not write this markup by hand. On any platform:
- Most themes or plugins output Product markup. Check your theme or SEO app settings, or ask your developer.
- Fill in the product fields the markup is built from: a description, the brand, a SKU and a barcode (GTIN) where the product has one.
- Give shipping and return policies once, on your Organization markup, rather than on every product.
- Keep the price in the markup the same as the price the page shows.
On Shopify, a theme can write the markup with the structured_data Liquid filter, which outputs a Product, or a ProductGroup when the product has variants.
Then test the page again here, with Google's Rich Results Test, or with the Schema Markup Validator.
How SourceVision helps
Structured data states a product's facts; the page's words are what an assistant quotes when it describes what you sell. SourceVision measures how ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity describe your products and proposes changes to your pages that you approve before anything changes on your store.

What is product structured data?
Code in a product page, usually JSON-LD inside a script tag, that states the product's facts in the schema.org vocabulary: its name, image, price, currency and whether it is in stock. Shoppers do not see it; software that reads the page does. Google's product documentation (developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/structured-data/product) describes the properties Google Search uses.
What does the tool check?
It reads the JSON-LD on the page you name and finds the Product, or the ProductGroup when the product has variants. It checks the properties Google's merchant listing and product snippet documentation require or recommend, such as name, image, price, priceCurrency, availability, brand, gtin, shipping and returns. It also looks for the markup's price in the text the page shows.
Do AI assistants read structured data?
Google documents how Google Search uses Product markup, and that documentation is what this tool checks against. Whether any other assistant reads it is for that assistant's owner to say, and we do not claim that it does. Markup that matches the page is quick to fix and does no harm to any reader.
Why does it say it could not find the price on the page?
The tool looks for the markup's price in the text the page itself shows. Some themes write the price with a script after the page loads, which this check cannot see, so the note does not mean the price is wrong. Check that the price in the markup is the price shoppers pay.
Which platforms and formats does it work with?
Any product page on the public web: Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Wix, Squarespace, Magento or a site you built yourself. It checks JSON-LD, which Google's introduction to structured data recommends where a site allows it; microdata and RDFa are reported as found but not checked. Google's Rich Results Test and the Schema Markup Validator read all three formats.
